Medium Rigid Training (MR)
Medium Rigid (MR) licence training is designed for drivers who want to operate trucks and buses with two axles and a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) over 8 tonnes. At Mareeba Truck School, our MR training program provides hands-on practical driving experience, covering skills like vehicle control, safe manoeuvring, load handling, and road safety awareness.
Heavy Rigid Vehicle Training (HR)
Heavy Rigid (HR) licence training is the pathway to driving trucks and buses with two or more axles, including prime movers and articulated vehicles (without a trailer). At Mareeba Truck School, our program covers everything from safe vehicle handling and reversing to load security and compliance with local road laws. We offer training in Automatic, Synchromesh, and Road Ranger (Crash Box) gearboxes, so you can choose the licence type that best suits your career goals.
Heavy Combination Vehicle Training (HC)
Heavy Combination (HC) licence training is designed for drivers wanting to step up into prime movers, semi-trailers, or rigid vehicles towing a trailer over 9 tonnes GVM. At Mareeba Truck School, our training gives you hands-on experience in coupling and uncoupling trailers, reversing, load management, and mastering road safety with larger vehicles. We provide training in Automatic, Synchromesh, and Road Ranger gearboxes, so you can choose the licence option that best suits your career path.

Mareeba Truck School (MTS) is a local family owned driving school, run by Industry Experienced Trainers, providing Heavy Vehicle Driver Training for MR, HR and HC Licences throughout Mareeba, Atherton, Cooktown, Hopevale and Weipa, in Far North Queensland.
